Probate fees are set to increase to as much as £6,000 at the beginning of April.
Probate fees are set to increase to as much as £6,000 at the beginning of April after MPs approved the proposal at a committee hearing on 7th February 2019.
Currently there is a flat fee for probate applications of £215 if submitting a personal application, or £155 if using a solicitor. Under the new proposals, probate fees will be based on the value of the estate in question, and there will be no discount if using a solicitor.
