Rachel Joined Thackray Williams in July 2023 as an Associate Solicitor in the Private Client Department.

After completing her LLB Law Degree and Legal Practice Course, Rachel trained with Thackray Williams qualifying as a solicitor in 2009. Thereafter she worked with well-established regional firms in Surrey and Kent before returning to Thackray Williams in 2023.

Rachel is a qualified Trust and Estate Practitioner and full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP); a globally recognised professional body admitting only the most experienced practitioners in the field of trusts and estates.

She is also a member of the Law Society Private Client Section and a Fully Accredited Member of The Association of Lifetime Lawyers (What is a Lifetime Lawyer?) signifying her ability to understand and accommodate the needs of those clients who may be particularly vulnerable.

Rachel deals with a variety of Private Client matters including the preparation of Wills to include Trust and tax-planning provisions, preparation of Lasting Powers of Attorney for both financial and medical decisions, registration of existing Enduring Powers of Attorney with the Office of the Public Guardian and the administration of estates of varying degrees of complexity. She also deals with supplementary matters often arising during the course of an estate administration matter such as Capital Gains Tax mitigation where a tax liability might arise on a sale of assets and the preparation of Deeds of Variation for beneficiaries wishing to redirect their inheritance to others.

Rachel is approachable, dependable and receptive. She is pleased to offer straightforward practical advice tailored to suit the needs of each individual client, recognising there is no ‘one size fits all’ approach.

In her spare time Rachel enjoys spending time with her young family and planning the next project for she and her husband in modernising their home.  When time allows, she also enjoys venturing on a sunny holiday having enjoyed many wonderful trips over the years with Italy ranking highly as a particular favourite.
