DPD driver wins £20k in tribunal after colleagues ‘gossiped’ about four-day work week

TW's Head of Employment, Emma Thompson recently commented for People Management Website on the case of a DPD driver tribunal highlighting “the crucial importance of maintaining confidentiality” and “the potential consequences” when workplace gossip goes unchecked.
A DPD driver won a discrimination case after his colleagues gossiped about his reduced work hours to care for his newborn child. The tribunal ruled that the company failed to maintain confidentiality and the resulting hostile environment constituted sex discrimination.
