Family owned businesses tend to be more than one dimensional money-making machines. By virtue of being a business, by their nature, they exist to generate an income and also protect the family’s future wealth. However, more often than not, they seek to give back to the people and communities from which they emerge. It is this ethos of ‘giving back’ that many family business owners find the most enriching and perhaps even the most exciting part of running their businesses.
In our next ‘Family Business Breakfast’ event our three speakers explore the theme of philanthropy within the family business. Offering advice to other business owners on ways to give back, their motivation for doing so and finally, exploring the concept of how to run a business with a heart.
