Penny is a consultant in the Commercial Property team. Her main practice areas include land development, acting for both developers and landowners, with a particular focus on renewable energy projects (onshore wind, solar and gas power projects) and residential development.

Penny also handles all aspects of commercial conveyancing, Landlord and Tenant work and secured lending for banks and private equity funds.

Penny trained at RadcliffesLeBrasseur in London, qualifying as a solicitor in 2000. She joined Thackray Williams in 2006 and was with the firm for 4 years, before leaving to set up an online performance bench-marking business. Subsequently, Penny worked for 6 years in the Corporate Real Estate team at Cripps LLP, together with 18 months in house as General Counsel for a London based renewable energy developer. Penny rejoined Thackray Williams from Cripps in December 2018.

Working in house has helped Penny to see each transaction from the client’s point of view and she enjoys working closely with her clients to become part of their team.

In her spare time, Penny enjoys the Theatre, Museums and Art Galleries and watching test cricket. She co-ordinates fundraising activities at her local Theatre and is a governor of a local primary school. She also has a licence to drive power boats.
