As a Solicitor, Gloria acts for both landlords and tenants in securing extensions to their leases and disposing of, or acquiring, the freeholds to their properties.
Approachable, friendly and a good listener, Gloria is able to calm clients if they become anxious following pressure from other parties involved in the transaction. Explaining the challenges of the transaction helps them understand the reasons for a delay, or hold up of the proceedings. Being able to explain complicated processes and legal terminologies to clients in simple terms to help them understand is an important skill. Clients appreciate knowing they are able to seek simple and clear advice on points or matters of a transaction and they can rely on Gloria to carry out their instructions in the most efficient way.
Gloria enjoys the diverse nature of her work. In acting for different parties in a transaction, no two situations are the same. Being able to provide services to clients that make them happy and ensuring all parties are content and satisfied at the end of the transaction are all part of her role. Gloria wants customers to feel they can return to Thackray Williams, or in turn, refer the company to other people.
Outside of work, Gloria enjoys spending time with her family (two girls and a husband) or exploring her art skills in beading (making jewellery). She is a member of the Event Planning team and head of the Protocol department at her local church and is involved with a charity that looks after the elderly and under privileged.
