Trainee Solicitors

The firm currently recruits two trainees every year. The training contract commences in September. There are four six month seats usually comprising General Litigation (including Employment), Matrimonial, Residential Conveyancing and Private Client. The trainees are generally based at our Bromley branch.

We are currently recruiting for training contracts to commence in September 2013. The deadline for submitting applications for 2013 training contracts is 30 November 2012.

There is no preference given to applicants who have law degrees as opposed to other degrees. However, a 2:1 degree is preferred as a minimum qualification. Trainees will be expected to have not only strong intellectual capability, but also common sense, good business skills, enthusiasm and good IT skills.

We are proud to say that we were nominated for the award 'Best Trainer - Medium Regional Firm' as part of the Law Careers annual awards in 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2011.

In 2011 we won the Law Careers award of  'Best Trainer - Small Regional Firm'.  The awards, which recognise the best recruiters and trainers among law firms, were based on a large survey of over 2,500 trainee and newly qualified solicitors.

Law South Trainees Business Cup 2011

Thackray Williams’ trainees beat 8 other firms to win the Law South Trainees Business Cup 2011.  The TW team comprised of 1st and 2nd year trainees Emily Mason, Paul Trivett, Katie Vidler, Stephen Lord and paralegal Zoey Arscott.
