Vodafone agree Pan European Network Sharing Agreement

Telecom giants announced today (23 March 2009) Vodafone and
Telefonica SA (“02”) have signed a deal to share Network facilities in
Germany, Spain, Ireland and UK aimed at saving hundreds of millions of pounds over the next ten years. 

The two Companies are aiming to build new sites and consolidate on existing ones following on the lead of T-Mobile and “3”.  Clearly
Vodafone and 02 will be looking to close telephone mast sites down and
landowners with telephone masts sites should seek immediate
legal advice to ensure that their future rental is protected under their
existing Mast Site Agreement.
