William has specialised in employment law for over 17 years since qualifying as a solicitor in 2001. Having worked primarily in private practice, becoming a Partner and Head of Department in a Chambers-ranked firm, he went on to become a self-employed Consultant Solicitor and developing his own practice before moving to Thackray Williams.
As an Associate Solicitor at Thackray Williams, Will is actively involved in client work as well as business development activites in and around the Sevenoaks office. As well as helping business owners and Human Resources advisers deal with people issues, William gives advice to employees who have work problems, including Settlement Agreements.
His vast experience within employment law, means William is well placed to offer strategic advice to clients on the best way forward for them given their financial and legal circumstances. He is also able to advise clients and argue their cases in the most cost effective and commercial way.
William enjoys the challenge of ever-changing law and cases, as well as finding new and innovative ways of working. He will always endeavour to deliver on time, aiming to be as proactive and responsive as possible. Clients describe William as responsive, supportive, pragmatic and professional.
Having also worked outside of law and taken an active interest in other business sectors, William understands both employees and employers’ perspectives when it comes to non-legal working environments and is therefore able to advise them with respect to their specific industry sector needs.
When not working, William enjoys playing tennis, watching rugby, spending time with family, friends or his Sprocker Spaniel Monty, and reading. As well as being a member of his local tennis club committee, William helps out with a church youth group and supports school events.
