CIPD qualified, Rebecca started her HR Career at Medway Council, moving on to work in Children’s Services, the Prison Service, Border Force, Courts and Tribunals and the Home Office. She came to work for Thackray Williams in June 2015 from working in the Cabinet Office.
As the HR Manager and part of the Management Team for Thackray Williams, Rebecca has a responsibility to staff and Partners. She strives to provide an effective and fairly managed Human Resources service by developing and leading the HR Strategy, in line with the firm’s core values and corporate business plans.
Rebecca’s role is far reaching and can include a range of issues, including support over sensitive or difficult issues, coaching and mentoring or for more formal advice and strategic planning. She always aims to provide the level of service and support she would expect to receive herself and takes pride in “going the extra mile”.
Balancing an approachable friendly character with good business acumen and professionalism, Rebecca’s strengths lie in Employment Law, Employee Engagement and Dispute Resolution. This helps her to foresee any potential problems and seek to address them informally before they have an adverse effect. Rebecca enjoys the balance and variety her job brings, along with the professionalism and humour of her colleagues.
Rebecca supports the homeless shelter and in December, made them a huge cauldron of curry. When not working, she enjoys spending time with her ten-year-old Labrador, Leo. This includes going for long walks, to the beach, on holidays and to doggy friendly pubs and Rebecca combines this with spending time with family and friends. DIY savvy and a bookworm, Rebecca also loves to cook and bake, as well as entertaining at home.
