Nick not only works within the Private Client department, he also assists other departments with direct taxation issues. In addition to handling mainstream private client tasks, such as wills, probate, tax planning and advice, Nick is working towards developing a direct tax advisory practice.
Qualifying as a Solicitor in 1989, Nick worked within the Inland Revenue Solicitor’s office (subsequently HMRC) where he gained experience in the area of direct taxation, including international aspects such as residence and domicile.
Having seen revenue law and practice from both sides of the fence, Nick’s experience allows him to offer strategic direction to those planning to mitigate direct tax liabilities. Being able to delve into the complexities of tax law and practice allows Nick to assist clients in the field of direct taxation in order to find the most effective solution or structure. He can also advise clients in dealing with tax related issues or HMRC enquiries.
Nick’s attitude is 100% commitment to his work at all times, being attentive and responsive to clients and going out of his way to provide an excellent service. Clients describe him as dependable, hard working and conscientious, whilst being confident he is in command of the details of their matter at all times.
Assisting clients to plan for their future is one of the things Nick enjoys most about his job.
