At Thackray Williams, Jonathan’s role involves drafting simple or complex wills, preparing and registering lasting powers of attorneys, registering enduring powers of attorney, applying for grants of probate or letters of administration, and drafting trusts. Jonathan handles his own matters as well as assisting colleagues at various stages.

A typical client is someone with little or no knowledge of a Private Client issue, who has decided to organise their or someone else’s estate affairs. They have either had a death of a family member they need assistance with or decided they would like to organise their own estate for benefit of their loved ones before their own death.

Jonathan takes pride in his job, setting himself high standards that take him beyond the average Private Client practitioner. His extensive knowledge in this area, combined with attention to detail, time management and multitasking skills help him produce quality work for clients. He believes client care is paramount and that regular communication with clients when dealing with their matter is essential. Clients have described him as friendly, helpful and responsive to their needs.

Always striving to fill clients with confidence by responding to their questions in a clear, easy to understand manner, Jonathan will endeavour to understand their needs, seeking to explain how he will achieve this in a professional and efficient way. He believes it is important to develop a good relationship from the first meeting and to be accessible and responsive to clients at all times.

After studying law, Jonathan worked at various levels within a number of different Private Client departments, starting out with LPAs and wills and progressing to probate, court of protection and trust administration matters.

When not at work, Jonathan enjoys spending time with family and experiencing the variety of fun things London has to offer. He also helps with food and clothes banks.
