Ann is an Associate Solicitor based at the Beckenham office. In her role in the Private Client department at Thackray Williams, Ann works in all areas of private client law, including wills, probate, lasting powers of attorney, court of protection applications, inheritance tax planning and property transfers.

Personable, approachable and patient, Ann is a great problem solver who enjoys meeting new people and coming across challenging practical and legal problems. Always positive, Ann likes to put herself in the clients’ shoes to understand how they would like to be treated. Having a strong understanding of her clients’ needs, allows Ann to provide a personalised service with a quick turnaround.

She trained at a firm in Camden, then worked for 10 years at another firm before taking a post as Head of Private Client with a small firm in Surrey. A relative newcomer to Thackray Williams, Ann is particularly proud of the vast amount of experience within the Private Client teams.

Before becoming a lawyer, Ann worked as a researcher and lecturer for 15 years. She has also worked as a Carer, so she appreciates the difficulties faced by older people and their Carers. As well as a law degree, Ann has a degree is statistics and is a Society of Trust and Estate Practitioner.

Involved with lots of voluntary work since her teenage years, Ann works with a wide-ranging sector of society, including the elderly, homeless people and children.  She ran a children’s group for a couple of years and was a community mediator dealing with neighbour disputes for 16 years.  Most recently, she has spent time buying and collecting food for food banks.

When not at work, Ann enjoys going for bike rides, cooking for friends and going to the cinema or theatre. She also likes dress making and tailoring.
