Leasehold Property Management

Disposing of your freehold interest

Before disposing of your freehold interest in a building you must consider whether your tenants have a right of first refusal under the Landlord and Tenant Act 1987. Our specialist team can advise you further on the impact of this Act. We can draft and serve the required notice offering the freehold to your tenants before dealing with the sale of the freehold interest to either your tenants or a third party should the tenants not wish to purchase the interest.

We can also represent you should your tenants have served a notice on you to acquire the freehold of the building under the Leasehold Reform, Housing and Urban Development Act 1993. Please do note that there are strict time limits in place where your tenants have served a notice on you and it is imperative that these deadlines are met otherwise you may lose the right to negotiate the price for the freehold.
