Commercial disputes

Our litigation solicitors cover various apects of civil and commercial litigation, including contractual disputes, building disputes and possession proceedings.
We have a substantial department of commercial litigation solicitors with many years' experience. We cover all areas of civil litigation dealing with both litigious and non-litigious aspects of work.
We are based close to Bromley County Court and are easily accessible from there. The department boasts a large reference library. Over many years we have forged close working relationships with Counsel acting in areas of contested work. The department has a friendly and approachable team who endeavour to ensure that matters are explained to clients in plain English and that all clients are always kept up to date with the progress of their case and its prospects of success.
Please email or telephone and speak to a Partner in the department who will be able to discuss what we can do to help your business.

OUR MEDIATION SERVICE
What is mediation?
Mediation is a method of resolving disputes without the time and expense of going through the traditional litigation process.
Why mediate?
Compared to traditional litigation, mediation is a considerably less expensive way of solving problems and the informality of the process makes it more likely that you will remain on solid business terms with the other side at the end of the dispute. The success rate for mediations is very high: statistics show that over two-thirds settle effectively.
What to do next?
Alan Porter is a trained mediator and operates through Law South Mediation. For more information email: alan.porter@thackraywilliams.com

What is a trade mark?
A trademark may be seen as a brand. It is a way that the public recognises the product or service as yours and yours alone. It also enables the public to distinguish you from other competing businesses producing the same brand. Read more.
Tenancy deposits - advice for landlords
Landlords take deposits from their tenants - usually amounting to one or two months rent - as security against damage to their property, unpaid rent etc. Since 6 April 2007 it has been unlawful for landlords of residential tenants to merely hold on to their tenants' deposits. They are now required to join one of the various tenancy deposit schemes. Read more.
