- Litigation and Dispute Resolution
David Bowers has a dual caseload of personal injury and litigation clients. Within the Personal Injury Department, David acts for both claimants and defendants in obtaining compensation arising out of clinical negligence, brain injuries or accidents at work, road traffic accidents and accidents as a result of a breach of occupier’s or public liability. Within Litigation, he represents clients involved in disputes, including consumer, contract, commercial, boundary, neighbour and construction disputes.
David studied law with European Legal Systems. He then worked as a Paralegal, whilst studying for the Legal Practice Course. On qualifying in 2013, David started his training contract with Thackray Williams, where he has remained ever since.
David’s clients range from individuals to businesses. The typical client either will have suffered an injury in some way, or will find him or herself faced with a dispute. Others, through the actions of someone else, may need to take legal action to enforce a right.
Understanding the commercial realities of a claim, along with the needs of the client and the impact that claim may have on their life is key to David’s role. Being able to focus on the strengths of the claim and negotiate in the best interest of the client is part of the service he offers, one that focuses on the commercial realities of litigation for the client as much as it does on the law. David ensures he keeps clients updated throughout the process, putting client service as one of the most important aspects of his role.
As the President of the Rotaract Club of Bromley, David frequently raises money for charities. He is a mentor for law students and frequently attends local schools to give talks and provide assistance with careers in law. David also regularly attends the Bromley Citizens Advice Bureau.
When not working, he enjoys cycling in the Kent countryside or playing squash.
