Thackray Williams help launch Fishy Fishy
30 - 4 - 2009Dermot O’Leary has joined forces with two of his closest friends to open a new Brighton brasserie called “Fishy Fishy”, dedicated to providing local, affordable, seasonal fish and seafood in a unique environment with the help of Thackray Williams.
Fishy Fishy’, will open in Spring 2009 and is the dream of three, thirty something very close friends who love food. Dermot said; “For years we’ve talked about opening and running our own restaurant, how it would work, where it would be, why it would be different. One day we got together and thought, let’s just do it!”
Thackray Williams oversaw both the purchase of the lease in Brighton and all the shareholders agreements.
“Vikki Herbert and her team in Bromley made sure we secured the lease on our terms”, explained managing Director Paul Shovlin. “While Robert Goddard oversaw the investment agreements from Dermot and the other shareholders”.
The Fishy Fishy building is already under construction and boasts its own charm and heritage. Once the home of Martha Gunn, one of Brighton’s oldest and best loved ‘dippers’, the three storey, grade 2 listed building, located on East Street in the heart of the famous Brighton Lanes, could not be more appropriate.
“It seemed like the perfect venue for Fishy Fishy. It had been fire damaged and left empty for a long time so we were really happy to be able to give it some TLC, sympathetically restore it, whilst making it our own.“ said Dermot.
